We used to marvel at the resiliency of my friend Matt's Odyssey 2 system. I don't remember how many games he had, but it wasn't many. What I do remember, though, was that we had a good bit of fun dragging a screwdriver across the underside of the motherboard while the system was on to see what popped up on the TV.

Some time back I picked up one of these inspired by those fond memories, and have enjoyed the system. Unfortunately, there are some problems with the sound or RF unit it seems. It's been awhile, but I recall modding the system so it had a mono sound output accessible via a standard RCA plug. Unfortunately, it seems a bit loud and somewhat distorted. Need to do something about that.

There are a few nice games for the system. Also, the voice synthesis unit, aptly called "The Voice" sounds good, and the aesthetic blends well with the base system. However, unlike the Intellivoice, the voice games for Odyssey2 are still fully playable without The Voice.

Or, should I say, The Voice! What was the deal with the exclamation points! For the name of every game! Even! Parts! Of! Games!
